Alison Wonderland will finally release her highly anticipated sophomore album “Awake” on April 6 and I couldn’t be more excited. “Run” was undoubtedly one of my favourite records of 2015 with its honest lyrics and experiential production layer that saw electronic music in a whole new light. With her new record she is taking it to a whole new level and the lead singles “Happy Place” and “Church” have already proved that with their anthemic sound. Along with the album announcement the singer/songwriter/producer has dropped a brand new song for your ears. “No” is a shiny electronic-pop moment that reflects on fake people in your life who always just say yes to you and aren’t real and vowing to never be like that. “They will always tell you yes but I’ll tell you no forever, forever. They will always see the best but we’re going home together, together”. Compared the previous singles this song has a slightly more pop focus with a tropical influenced hook that will have you bopping as soon as the beat drops. It takes a couple listens to grow on you like “Church” but it will eventually have you vibing so hard.
