Glasgow synth-pop trio Chvrches have unveiled that their third studio album “Love Is Dead” will be finally released on May 25 and yes that should make you excited. After releasing the boppy “Get Out” as their lead single they’ve released a new promo single which fails to create that euphoric moment its predecessor did. “My Enemy” is a bit of a low-key moment which delivers soft synths and vocal effects. It takes it back to their earlier alternative-pop days before they broke into the mainstream festival market. This sound may have something to do with The National lead singer Matt Berninger featuring on the track or it may have nothing to do with that at all. The airy track isn’t bad, nor is it great. It’s a calm moment in between a record which I’m expecting to be buzzing with sounds, unique storylines and raw emotions. While I may not be completely a fan of this studio version I do have a feeling this song would be best experienced live.
