On March 3 Brisbane based producer and singer songwriter JOY. will finally release her highly anticipated second EP “Six” which has been 3 years in the making. Lead single “Smoke Too Much” introduced a pulsating synth production along with her classic alternative-pop approach. It was her most commercially ready track yet and that was proven with the song clocking over 2 million streams on Spotify. Her follow up single “Change” strips it back completely and goes back to her alternative ballad roots. The song is very raw and allows her angelic and strong vocals to take lead. It explores still having feelings for someone but realising they will never change and that they just aren’t good for you. “I keep running back to you. I don’t know what for, I just cannot seem to find my peace”. It’s a very intimate and honest track that will have your heart breaking and also empathising with her at the same time because we all know that sometimes people just don’t change. It’s a beautiful and captivating ballad that shows a great contrast to her synth heavy lead single.
