SINGLE REVIEW: Justin Timberlake feat. Chris Stapleton – Say Something

Justin-Timberlake-2

With Justin Timberlake’s fifth studio album “Man Of The Woods” finally being released next week the singer songwriter has decided to release one final single before then. “Say Something” is probably the most satisfying single he’s released from this project so far. “Filthy” was an obscure bop that really divided people with their opinions whilst “Supplies” was just painstakingly awful and surprisingly this new song is just really nice. We hear him jumping onto the current country-pop trend which is a tad predictable but lets be real when you have an album called “Man Of The Woods” it was always going to happen. He teams up with Chris Stapleton for this simple and enjoyable track about needing to speak up. “Everyone knows all about my direction and in my heart somewhere I wanna go there. Still I don’t go there”. Driven by the pleasing strumming of guitars and simple hand claps it strips away all the distractions and takes it back to the roots. Chris Stapleton also delivers a strong verse and harmonises well with Timberlake. If you haven’t enjoyed his past two singles then you will most likely actually like this one and it may get you excited for his upcoming Super Bowl Halftime Performance which I’m sure is going to be phenomenal.
