I don’t think I will ever forget the lyrics to Franz Ferdinand’s “Take Me Out” and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Thankfully the indie rock band have returned from taking a hiatus after the release of their fourth studio album “Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action” and even have a new line up to boast with two new members after Nick McCarthy departed the band to focus on his family. Their fifth studio album “Always Ascending” will be finally released on February 9 and to celebrate they’ve just dropped their third single. “Lazy Boy” hears them returning to their original indie-rock formula with a ridiculously catchy hook and just gritty production. The lyrics are super simple but that’s what makes it work so well. Along with their strong production and their classic monotonous vocals you will have the hook stuck in your head for hours. “Am I gonna get up? Am I gonna get up, get up? Never!”. It’s just a lot of fun and will have you feeling nostalgic instantly. It’s classic Franz Ferdinand goodness.
