SINGLE REVIEW: Vance Joy – We’re Going Home

unnamed

Vance Joy will finally release his highly anticipated sophomore record “Nation Of Two” on February 23 and to celebrate the announcement he has released the official second single. “We’re Going Home” is an alternative pop meets folk track that continues the laid back sound you’ve come to know and love from him. It’s a lot melodically stronger than the previous hype track “Like Gold” and impresses with a strong and radio friendly hook that channels the likes of Mumford & Sons. The album follows the storyline of a self contained couple who seemingly only need the comfort of each other to make sense out of life. So aka, prepare for a lot of feelings. This song is very cinematic with it’s delivery and will have you floating around happily in your own little bubble. “If we make it or we don’t, we won’t be alone. When I see your light shine, I know I’m home”. It has an anthemic vibe to it similar to “Lay It On Me” which will instantly make it a fan favourite and a highlight in his upcoming live shows.
