SINGLE REVIEW: Camila Cabello – Never Be The Same
“Havana” has become one of the biggest songs of 2017 and I couldn’t be more excited about that statistic because lets be honest, it’s a BOP. The year has been a massive year for the songstress. Since departing Fifth Harmony she launched a solo career with some massive award show performances, toured with Bruno Mars and has now added a number one single to those accolades. She’s just announced the release of her debut self titled album slated for January 12 and has released two instant gratitude tracks. “Never Be The Same” is the lead new single and hears her taking a different direction musically. Her vocals take the spotlight and seduce you with this confident and slightly vulnerable delivery. It looks at falling in love with someone and being forever changed by the impact they had on you. It’s a sweet and reflective track that will hit you right in the feelings. “Just like nicotine, heroin, morphine. Suddenly, I’m a fiend and you’re all I need, all I need”. It’s a big departure from the Cuban inspired production of “Havana” but it’s very mature and shows her growth as an artist. It’s more on the same wave length as her debut single “Crying In The Club” melodically but is less of a Sia b-side and hears her defining her sound more. Big things are to come from Ms Cabello so get prepared.
