The Presets are back with their first new song in 3 years. The electronic duo were unsure how their fourth studio album would sound after experimenting with a melancholy direction at the start of the process but instead they’ve opted to create some more synth pop bangers. “Do What You Want” is their strongest track since their 2008 record “Apocalypso” spawned the smash hits “My People”, “Talk Like That” and “This Boys In Love”. Reverting to the party starter formula they still showcase their experimental and DIY side wth their playful production. With oozing synths the duo adds in gritty guitars and thrashing drums to create a electronic rock sound. It was truly created for the live arena and will see it going off in their live shows over the New Year period. The rock elements give me serious throwbacks to “My People” with how the grittiness perfectly intertwines with their experimental electronic synths. Every time you press play it gets better and better. It’s ridiculously catchy and it’s truly the comeback song you were hoping for from them.
