Hailing from the northern beaches of Sydney CXLOE is the new musical project of X Factor Australia alumni Chloe Papandrea. For her debut single the 23 year old songstress channels the likes of Tove Lo and Banks with the added touch of a glossy pop finish. “Tough Love” oozes electronic synths and attitude with honest lyrics that explores letting your guard down. “If you’re gonna try me I will make it easy. Gotta give you my tough love”. The synths are dark and moody which complement her intriguing and seductive vocal delivery during the verses before unleashing a MASSIVE and confident hook. The production is slick and has a cool sample to deliver the word “tough” which gives the song a bit of a DIY approach. The groovy production finish ties it all together and will have the song stuck in your head instantly. This is a pop track that has major potential.
