SINGLE REVIEW: Noah Cyrus – Almost Famous
You may know her as Miley Cyrus’ younger sister but soon you will just know her as Noah Cyrus. At the young age of 17 she has delivered some of the most underrated pop songs of the last year including “Make Me (Cry)” and “Stay Together”. While her debut album “NC-17” still doesn’t have an official release date she has just dropped another promotional single to get you to be patient for a little while longer. “Almost Famous” is the most stripped back we have heard her yet and it’s kinda perfect. The song may be minimalist in production but it allows her vocals and storytelling to take charge. The song looks at a relationship that was nearly perfect but in the end it wasn’t and reflecting on it after the break up. “You were the right face at the wrong time love, I only wish I woulda known it”. She shows a vulnerability that we got a glimpse at on “Make Me (Cry)” and expands on the rawness with her vocals standing out as the strongest thing about the song. It’s a pretty song that has a catchy hook and while it won’t become a chart topping single it will become a favourite in your playlist.
