SINGLE REVIEW: Demi Lovato – Sorry Not Sorry
Well then. Demi Lovato just did THAT. To be quite honest it’s always taken me a little while to enjoy Lovato’s music minus the occasional instant bop (shout out to Heart Attack and Cool For The Summer). But she’s just made me eat my words with the first single from her forthcoming fifth studio album. If you forget the fact that “Sorry Not Sorry” is an awful name for a lead single then you are going to have your pop mind blown with this song. It’s full of sass, attitude and is the ultimate empowering break up and fuck you haters song that you didn’t realise you needed. It’s all about loving yourself and being like “you know what I am amazing and you are going to be worse off without me”. The song has so many great one liners the will find your social media platforms plastered with lyric quotes from people trying to slyly send a message of good riddance to someone. “Now payback is a bad bitch and baby, I’m the baddest. You fuckin’ with a savage. Can’t have this, can’t have this”. // “And yeah I know how bad it must hurt to see me like this, but it gets worse, wait a minute”. Lovato’s vocals have always been her strong point and this song see’s her serving some gospel esq goodness in the chorus. The first verse has a bit too much autotune but it becomes less centered and allows for her to take complete focus in the chorus. It’s a massive and fun song that is the perfect mid summer anthem for America and Europe. So get amongst it and show that one person in your life that your sorry not sorry.
