SINGLE REVIEW: Urban Cone – Pumping Up Clouds

My Swedish favourites Urban Cone are back with the second single from their upcoming third studio album and its another bop! “Pumping Up Clouds” sees them continuing the amplified indie-pop sound they introduced with “Old School”. It’s euphoric, infectious and just an all round reflective and feel good song. It’s about looking back at a relationship and questioning what if we just got back together and forgot about all the negativity and focused on the amazing memories we had. It doesn’t focus on the outcome, it’s more about romanticising the thought of them saying yes. “Let’s move into our old house, love me this time. We’ll be grooving to the old sounds, pumping up clouds” . The infectious synths will instantly be stuck in your head (quicker than “Sadness Disease” did) and will have you grooving and singing along instantaneously. The vocal production is very slick and plays on the dreamy vibe of the lyrics. I can’t fault this song or this band and neither will you.
