Whether you’re a country lover or not, you are a fan of Shania Twain. I don’t care if you want to admit it or not because the fact of the matter is that at some point you have busted some moves out to “Man I Feel Like A Woman” or emotionally sung along to “You’re Still The One” and loved it. It’s been 15 years since she has last released music (let that sink in… F I F T E E N years) and she’s finally gearing up to release her highly anticipated fifth studio album “Now” and I couldn’t be more excited. “Life’s About To Get Good” is the lead single from the forthcoming record and see’s her giving you some good ol’ country-pop goodness. The song is an empowering track about realising that life comes with the good and bad but not dwelling on the negative moments which is quite easy to do and instead focus on the positives. “Life’s about joy, life’s about pain. It’s all about forgiving and the will to walk away. I’m ready to be loved and love the way I should. Life’s about, life’s about to get good”. Her vocals still have that raspiness that you fell in love with all those years ago but I’m not completely sold on the vocal production because it’s not flattering the whole way through. The rest of the production is the country-pop you are accustomed to and will have you clapping your hands, stomping your feet and find yourself transporting to a country gospel church. This song is the perfect way for Shania to make her comeback because she has very publicly fought many battles and it looked like for a long time she would never sing, write music or perform again. It may not be the strongest track or as memorable as some of her biggest hits but did you really expect that? But she found that spark and started focusing on the positives and if that doesn’t warm your heart I don’t know what will.
