We are all well aware that Camila Cabello left Fifth Harmony at the end of last year so it’s no surprise that all eyes are on what the girls are going to do next. They’ve been polite with their comments about the songstresses exist of the group and been focusing on new music and live performances. Thy’ve finally debuted their new single but I don’t think it’s the slam dunk they were hoping for. “Down” is a mid-tempo RNB song that has great potential but somewhere along the way it’s just fallen a little flat. The beat is the same tempo the whole way through and doesn’t have a big moment that stands out. After listening to it multiple times I still haven’t even got the hook stuck in my head and thats weird cause they say the word “Down” 56 times by the end of the song. Gucci Mane features on the track but brings a flavourless rap that could’ve been left out and still had the same effect.I was really expecting a big pop meet RNB track that would become the US Summer anthem but I just don’t see it becoming that. It may grow on you after a couple of listens but that is a big MAY.

SIDENOTE: Their performance of this song on GMA was VERY good and may just save the song.
