SINGLE REVIEW: Isaiah – Don’t Come Easy
Last year Australia was robbed at Eurovision when Dami Im didn’t get crowned the winner but they did receive a lot of attention on the world stage for their incredible attempt. So this year there is a lot of hype surrounding their entrant and they have decided to take a gamble on a new and young artist. Isaiah won last years season of X Factor Australia at the ripe age of 16 and impressed with his mature vocals and stage presence. So it’s with no surprise that not everyone is happy with this choice and I have to be honest, even I’m a bit sceptical. However “Don’t Come Easy” is a big pop moment that sees Isaiah channeling Sam Smith with this delivery and if you take away how young he is as an artist and as an human then you can’t deny how good this track is. It grows on you with each listen and his strong vocal delivery carries the songs simple production. As a ballad it’s a bit cliche but it is emotional and works for international exposure with great radio potential. Is it as good as Dami Im’s entry? No. But its close.
