SINGLE REVIEW: Kygo feat. Selena Gomez – It Ain’t Me
I’m going to be honest I totally forgot Kygo existed for a little while and I don’t think I was the only one. So what better way to get him back on the map than joining forces with Selena Gomez for a massive comeback track. “It Ain’t Me” is a pop/edm track that was made for heavy rotation. It basically takes musical ideas from every big pop/edm song over the past 2 years and creates a formula that can’t be faulted. Except for the fact that it sounds like multiple tracks you’re already acquainted with. But let’s put that aside for a moment and praise Ms Gomez’ dreamy vocals which really seem to improve with every release and yet again she slays another EDM track. The song strategically grows, starting off with basic guitar and slowly adding in synths before creating a big breakdown which will have you spinning in circles and dancing like no one is watching. It’s a catchy song that will top the charts and be played on heavy rotation but is it really an original sounding track? The answer is no.
