SINGLE REVIEW: Noah Cyrus feat. Labrinth – Make Me (Cry)
You may know the name Noah Cyrus because she’s the sister of Miley Cyrus and daughter of Billy Ray Cyrus but she’s about to make a name for herself. Her debut single sees the young songstress successfully creating her own sound and impressing with a strong maturity. “Make Me (Cry)” is an experimental pop song that pushes boundaries and welcomes another Cyrus to your airwaves. Collaborating with Labrinth this new-wave ballad has the two harmonising and telling a story of a toxic relationship and the heartbreak that follows. “I never needed you like I do right now. I never hated you like I do right now. Cause all you ever do is make me…”. What I was most impressed about was the unconventional production that allows this song to shift from an emotional delivery to a gritty synth accompaniment. Cyrus’ vocals are raw and have the power and emotion that catapulted her sister to the top of the charts with her heartfelt ballads. This song perfectly serves as an introduction to the experimental musical journey Noah Cyrus is about to take us on and I don’t know about you but I’m super excited.
