SINGLE REVIEW: Bruno Mars – Versace On The Floor
I don’t think it comes by any surprise that I was not fan of Bruno Mars’ latest single “24K Magic” which sounded like a “Downtown” and “Fresh Prince Of Bel Air” mash up go wrong. But it’s okay because he’s redeemed himself with the smooth “Versace On The Floor” which sounds less try hard and more towards something you want to hear from him. As soon as the synths surrounding the chorus hits, you will be transported to an 80’s disco and you will be LIVING. This slow jam has all the elements to hit number one. It stands out in the overly saturated pop market, its nostalgic, super catchy and brings back a softer and sexual side of Bruno Mars that we were lacking. “So baby let’s just turn down the lights and close the door. I love that dress but you won’t need it anymore. No you won’t need it no more. Let’s just kiss ’til we’re naked, baby. Versace on the floor, take it off for me”. I really love this sound and hope that the future production is more experimental like this and not gimmicky like the previous “Uptown Funk 2.0” attempt.
