SINGLE REVIEW: Bebe Rexha – I Got You
Bebe Rexha is a name you should hear more of in the pop world, after all she has co-wrote some of your favourite songs of the past 5 years and is undeniably talented not just in songwriting but vocally and in a performance aspect as well. Her last single “No Broken Hearts’ feat. Nicki Minaj reintroduced her to the pop market after a pop/rock experimentation with her EP “I Don’t Wanna Grow up”. The upbeat pop track has opened a lot of doors for the songstress this year; supporting Ellie Goulding on her American arena tour, dozens of talk show appearances, a killer collaboration with Martin Garrix as well as being offered to host the EMAS.
With her debut album “A.Y.F” scheduled for a early 2017 release, her second offical single is here and gives us a slightly different direction. The groovy “I Got You” experiments with a tropical beat and an electrifying bass line. I’m glad she’s going towards this more fulfilled sound again because when she performs with a band she owns every inch of that stage and has you captivated. Where-as I didn’t want to lose that Bebe to the electronic music world. The chorus is super catchy, repetitive and her raspy vocals will have you captured and pressing replay instantaneously. This is a strong follow up release for Bebe and I just hope for her sake it stands out enough because a lot of pop artists have been going towards this direction in the past couple of weeks.
