SINGLE REVIEW: Kings – (U) West Coast

Kings.-u-West-Coast-2016

We may be in the middle of winter but let’s be honest we are always dreaming of summer. And I know I’m currently living vicariously through America and wishing I was on holidays at the beach. So I’m always searching for those warm, summery vibes when it comes to music to help me get through winter. And Melbourne indie-pop band Kings has delivered just that. “(U) West Coast” is an infectious indie pop-electro track that has lead singer Hayden Jefferey offering a smooth and almost croonnful delivery. The feel good chorus has you picturing yourself on a road trip, chasing the sun with the windows down. “I’ll be thinking about you, all the time”. It’s the production that really stands out with it evolving throughout the duration, offering subtle and impactful beat drops. “(U) West Coast” is a song you need to add to your playlists, and not just that but also discover their previous singles “Whispers” and “Fall In Fall Out”. They offer similar vibes with different production elements that make me really intrigued to hear their debut EP.
