David Guetta used to be the ultimate hit maker but recently he hasn’t been delivering the bangers. “Hey Mama” was a sure fire hit with Nicki Minaj and Bebe Rexha featuring but the accompanying album kinda flopped on the charts and people just ended up forgetting it actually existed. Now he has teamed up with future pop star Zara Larsson for the UEFA Euro 2016 theme song and I wish I could say it was good. I really had hoped that this would be a “Waka Waka” sort of moment that would blow up Zara Larsson’s career and spark a fire in Guetta again. But no. This is probably the most cliche sport anthem I have ever heard. And not even a good cliche track. The chorus will leave you cringing with its tacky hook that deserves to be in a Disney musical. “We’re in this together, hear our hearts beat together. We stand strong together, we’re in this forever! This one’s for you.”. The production is very basic and doesn’t scream David Guetta or anything really. It lacks originality and surely the UEFA had better tracks in their selections. The only good thing about this track is Zara’s vocals, which don’t even get that much of a spotlight to shine.
