SINGLE REVIEW: Hayley Warner – Closure

CLOSURE

Hayley Warner is responsible for writing some of the catchiest pop songs in the Australian music industry and recently she co-wrote Tori Kelly’s emotionally charged new single “Hollow”. It’s been a couple of years since she’s released solo material and she’s finally ready to reintroduce herself to the world. “Closure” is a beautiful ballad that allows her to showcase her strong and versatile vocals that we weren’t able to hear the extent of previously on her overly commercial pop/rock material post Australian Idol days. This song sees her stripping everything back and giving you an emotionally raw track that will have you hooked with its perfect vocal delivery and haunting lyrics. “I don’t want to say it but somebody’s gotta say that it’s over. Seeing you defeated doesn’t bring me any closer to closure”. It’s an intimate side to Hayley that we have never seen in her solo material previously and I’m totally digging it. The lyrics are totally relatable and will have you wanting to listen to it over and over again.
