The promotion for this single has been L O N G to say the least. No one quite knew what was actually happening, if the single would just drop or if they were going to drop the full album at once. Well it finally happened, the extremely catchy first single “Love Me” from their upcoming sophomore studio album is finally here. Taking inspiration from INXS and Duran Duran musically this track brings a funk sound that will have you grooving from start to finish. “You’ve got a beautiful face but got nothing to say. You look famous, let’s be friends and portray we possess something important”. This is a great social commentary on society with our low standards for what a celebrity is. This sound is less moody than their previous releases and will see it translating well into their already energetic live show. The 1975 are a great band who possess an intriguing outlook on this world and I already cannot wait to hear what else they have planned.
