SINGLE REVIEW: Foxes – Body Talk

UK Songstress Foxes has had a whirlwind two years and things aren’t slowing down anytime soon. With her sophomore album on the way she is preparing to ride the charts all over again with the infectious 80’s inspired synth pop “Body Talk”. This new direction sees her targeting a more defined dreamy pop sound that can be compared to her upbeat tracks “Let Go For Tonight” and “Night Owls Early Birds”. It’s less Florence And The Machine esque and driven for mainstream media. With the launch of the single on BBC and a mini promotional tour across the UK for World Record Day the song is already receiving a lot of traction. It’s a fun track that incorporates an unforgettable hook, some catchy “la la la’s” and interesting vocal production techniques that help define the 80’s retrospective sound. “Ooh, let your body talk even when you feel so lost. Spinning when the tears they fall, you gotta just let it go”. There are no intoxicating high notes in the song that showcase her unique and powerhouse vocal range like some of her older material but with this retro sound it would sound a bit forced. This is one of my favourite tracks of right now and after the first listen you will instantly fall in love with it too. It’s the dreamy synth pop track you just need in your life.
