SINGLE REVIEW: Karmin – Along The Road

Along the Road - Single

Quirky pop duo Karmin have come a long way since uploading their covers on Youtube in 2010 Since topping the charts with “Brokenhearted” and “Acapella” the pair have split with their label and have decided to release their second studio album “Leo Rising” independently. The third single “Along The Road” is a departure from their distinctive bubblegum pop mesh they have become known for and sees them stripping it back to their roots. This acoustic pop track offers an impressive vocal delivery, personality and pure talent. Boasting a positive and reflective message lead singer Amy Heidemann looks back at a relationship that has ended but with no regret or anger. “All the words we never said, all the crazy things we did keep on playing in my head. And although this is the end, broken hearts are meant to mend and I know we’ll meet again along the road”. It’s a very simple song that resonates well with listeners. Is it a massive hit? No, but is it worth the listen? Yes. It’s nice to see them returning to their roots again and delivering non forced personality and smooth melodies.
