SINGLE REVIEW: Rihanna – Bitch Better Have My Money

Rihanna is absolutely killing it right now. She is everywhere you turn with award show performances, a number one single with Kanye West and Paul McCartney, a lead voice role in the new film “Home” and three songs on the soundtrack as well as being a loud spokesperson for the new streaming initiative Tidal. If you weren’t already excited for “R8” then you are about to be. She has just dropped her new single “Bitch Better Have My Money” and it’s FIERCE. This bad ass trap anthem stomps a gritty beat and screams attitude. It almost sounds like a perfect sequel to “Pour It Up” off her 2012 album “Unapologetic” but with a lot more sass. It will no doubt become the new party song that people start quoting on social media along with a photo from a wild weekend. After releasing ”FourFiveSeconds” as a lead single and three family friendly tracks for the Home Soundtrack she had to show people the crazy Rihanna people knew and loved was still there and she did it. It’s not exactly radio friendly and won’t become an overnight smash hit like “Only Girl” or “We Found Love” on the charts but it’s still on the same level with its infectious hook and attitude filled verses. The clubs will fall in love with it and a night out won’t be complete until you hear it played. Her Barbados accent is easily detected with the Caribbean inspired raps that allow her to showcase her roots. “Bitch Better Have My Money” is fierce and there’s no other way I could successfully describe it. Welcome back Queen Riri!
