SINGLE REVIEW: Carly Rae Jepsen – I Really Like You

In 2011 Carly Rae Jepsen came into our lives with the ridiculously catchy ‘Call Me Maybe” but with some time on Broadway last year she kind of disappeared from our lives. But don’t fret because she’s back with a track that is nearly as catchy and will destroy your lives all over again. “I Really Like You” is the pop gem we were waiting for and while the verses are a tad bland it’s the hook that delivers the magic. It’s infectiously catchy, perfect and grows on you with each listen but let’s be honest you only need one listen before your hooked. “I really really really really really really like you and I want you, do you want me, do you want me too?”. It may be cheesy and some may say it’s a tad cringe worthy but its Carly Rae Jepsen, would you really have her any other way? Her sound hasn’t really changed, neither has her vocal techniques but she’s still captivating and knows how to create a fun bop. With a new album on the way if this song is anything to judge by this album is going to be bubblegum pop brilliance.
