SINGLE REVIEW: G.R.L. – Ugly Heart

The creator of The Pussycat Dolls Robin Antin has put together what possibly could be the next big girl group. They have the potential but their promotional singles leading up to their debut album have been disappointing to say the least. “Ugly Heart” is the first official single and it’s a lot better and infectiously catchy. Listening to “Ugly Heart” it’s a massive shift from the Pussycat Dolls style of music and sees Robin moving her girls towards a cheekier and playful image. “Okay you’re coverboy pretty stamped with a beauty mark, but it’s such a pity a boy so pretty with an ugly heart” will be stuck in your head after a couple of listens. Each member of the group has the “girl next door” sort of feel to them and you can’t help but fall in love with their unique voices and personalities. It’s a song that grows on you and will have dancing and singing along to the infectious track. And yes, G.R.L. may just end up being the next best thing to The Pussycat Dolls.

G.R.L will be heading down under next month so stay tuned for details of the girls Australian takeover…
