SINGLE REVIEW: Samantha Jade – UP

Sjade

Samantha Jade is back with her 3rd single from her upcoming studio album which is slated for release in the upcoming couple of months. ‘Up!’ is an infectious pop track which is a carefree party song that will no doubt be an instant club favourite. The song was produced by Mario Marchetti and has been adopted by the Socceroos to be used as their theme song for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. This is the strongest single Samantha Jade has released yet for this upcoming album with the chorus just taking you to a place when you get lost in the music. It’s also a much stronger track than Shakira’s ‘La La La (Brazil)’ which is being used as a secondary theme song for the 2014 World Cup.

Lyrically the song is uplifting and a feel good track with lyrics like “We own the night, we own the night so let’s turn it, turn it, turn it up until we reach the other side. Were flying high, flying so high, well let’s turn it, turn it, turn it up we’re dancing in the sky” being stuck in your head for hours. Vocally the song allows Samantha’s vocal range to shine with her breathtaking high notes closing the song. ‘Up!’ is a fun track that the clubs and radio will love and after a listen I’m sure you will too.

‘Up!’ will be available on ITunes from Friday April 11 and Samantha Jade will be performing the song at the farewell Socceroo’s match against South Africa on 26 May.
