Australia has some incredible pop rock bands who are touring the local circuit while making a name for themselves and All Year Round is one of those bands. Forming in 2012 this Adelaide pop/rock band have made an impressive imprint on the Australian scene with a strong social media following. Jackqueline Kyriacou is the lead vocalist while George Solomon is on drums, Josh Dickenson plays Bass and Paul Bakker and Luke Lutze plays Guitar. All Year Round have a similar sound to Tonight Alive who are doing massive things overseas at the moment and the future for this band is looking very bright. Opening for the likes of All Time Low, These Kids Wear Crowns, Hands Like Houses and Masketta Fall they are heading out on their own this April for a co-headlining tour with Set The Record. This will be the first time the band has played shows outside of South Australia and audiences are going to be treated to an energetic live show.
All Year Round have just released their debut EP ‘In Perspective’ and this seven track release offers a strong collection of pop/rock songs. Lead single ‘Larry’ is a catchy but generic pop track which tells the story of a love triangle. Being the lead single you would think this would be the strongest track from the EP but this is not the case. ‘Something To Fight For’ is one of the real highlights with a darker pop/rock track with a big chorus that showcases Jacqueline’s vocal range. ‘Step Up’ and ‘Story Of Our Lives’ see’s the band experimenting with a heavier pop influenced sound which creates a very fun vibe and will definitely be the live favourites. ‘Hand In Hand’ is another stand out track which you could almost mistake for fellow Australian pop/rock band Tonight Alive.
‘In Perspective’ was recorded at Sydney’s Electric Sun studios with producer Dave Petrovic whose worked with the likes of Tonight Alive, Northlane and Dream On Dreamer). With a female singer the band will be faced with comparisons to bands like Tonight Alive and Paramore and this EP will introduce the band to a wider fan base. They are a great band who are growing and evolving their sound and live show to be something that must be seen.
